AlloyPGH meets STAN

It was very exciting and rewarding to unveil STAN at the opening of AlloyPGH 2015 located on the historical Carrie Furnaces National Historic Landmark grounds. The biannual art residency included 11 artist who spent 9 months researching, planning and constructing of site specific works. STAN was inspired by my grandfather Stan Kwasny who worked for 30 years at Clairton Works and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union local 1557. My grandfather including immediate family all came to the opening of AlloyPGH where we enjoyed art, sun, and embracing the industry workers who built Western Pennsylvania during its most industrial times.
